Le Notti della Salamandra

Teatro delle Temperie once again brings life to the summer evenings of Sala Bolognese, bringing the magic of live theater to the historic setting of Villa Terracini park, in the district of Osteria Nuova.

There will be prose performances by Teatro delle Temperie and theater companies from all over Italy. For the “Le notti della SALAmandra Family” program, there will be circus-theater shows suitable for the whole family.

This year, there’s a great new addition: every evening you can enjoy a delicious outdoor dinner featuring arrosticini (July 2, 16, and 30) and crescentine (July 9 and 23), organized by Pro Loco Sala Bolognese.

KALINKA - THE RUSSIAN CIRCUS LIKE YOU’VE NEVER SEEN IT

A show that, through musical clowning, explores the story of a well-matched artist couple with a Felliniesque touch: he (Mascherpa) is a ragged impresario-presenter-sidekick, she (Maila Zirovna) is a no less clumsy prima donna who came-escaped-expelled, who knows, from the great circus tradition of Soviet Russia. Nando and Maila bring a playful and tender energy to the stage that enriches skirmishes, jabs, and pranks with increasing poetry. They duet with musical contortionist performances, dancing a tango while playing the accordion and violin. In KALINKA, live music intertwines with gags, running jokes, aerial acrobatics, and juggling. A journey through traditional circus characters, presented through the language of Contemporary Circus.

Doctor Stok’s "Analogical Street Physics Experiments" feature the experiments of an eccentric scientist and "Spigolo" the alchemical contraption capable of incredible transformations. Domino effect machines, catapults, cushions, pots, ladles, every object will literally "come to life."

Spotlights on the bedroom of Luca and Lilli, a couple in their fifties married for half of their lives who, for the first time in a long time, find themselves living alone in their apartment after their only child leaves for university. While Lilli faces this new phase unpredictably shifting from absolute sadness to uncontrollable enthusiasm for numerous improbable new projects, Luca endures the small and large follies of his wife. But things are never as they seem and the empty nest syndrome strikes where you least expect it. A lively succession of evenings and awakenings in a bedroom that becomes the scene of hilarious quarrels that nearly bring the couple to the brink of separation. However, breaking up may never have been a real possibility, but rather a mirror in which to look at themselves to realize that, even as time passes and balances change, sometimes shaking things up is the only way to truly find each other in the bedroom every evening after twenty-five years of marriage. Through highs and lows, craziness and neuroses, always teetering between outbursts and stoic endurance, in days that often range from comic to grotesque, but together. A show in which every couple can see themselves, to laugh together at the anxieties, insecurities, difficulties, and ridiculous craziness of life as a couple and exorcize them together.
