The neoclassic Villa Capriata stands in the heart of an age-old parknear Castenaso.
Lucio Barbani had it built in 1872 according to a plan by Architect Luigi Pondrelli.
It is a four-storied building with the typical features of most Bolognese villas: an open gallery goes across the entire T-plan building with rooms at its opposite ends.
On the ground floor, a large hall with single column capitals laterally opens on a chimney room with beam ceiling. Internal stairs lead to the upper floors, while the first floor can be reached directly from the outside through a great staircase on the frontal side of the villa. There, a splendid Venetian chandelier lights up an open gallery.
There is a two-hectare park round the villa, where age-old trees give a sensation of serenity and stateliness as well.
The 17th-century Oratory of the Madonna della Neve, which once belonged to a building complex in the vicinity, is a part of the estate now.
Villa Capriata, which includes an outdoor swimming pool as well as a wellness area, is available for wedding receptions, meetings, events and private parties.
