The Palazzaccio or Abbot’s House was built in the XIII Century by the abbot of Nonantola, outside the ancient village.
The disdainful name Palazâz comes from the fact that here the citizens delivered the tithes of the harvest, paying the rent due to the Abbey for the plot of land allowed.
It is the most ancient building of the town. Its structure is divided into several floors and its portico is in “forch” style with oak wood columns.
