The Castle of Palata Pepoli was built under commission from Count Filippo Pepoli around 1540.
It has a notable porticoed courtyard. The building has elements of severe elegance which reveal its relationship to contemporary buildings in Bologna and Ferrara.
All the property of the Pepoli family, including the Castle, were given over to the Torlonia princes in the mid-20th century. Of the original interior decoration, there remain only the beautiful doors in soft wood, varnished with rococo motifs.
