Piazzetta Betlemme

Gino Pellegrini has transformed the early degraded area of Piazzetta Betlemme into an extraordinary work of art.

Painting after painting, on the Houses’ facade takes shape the ideas of the artist and the stories of the citizens.

Gino Pellegrini worked on the Piazzetta Betlemme project in four different years: 1982, 1990,1998 and 2004. He used the trompe-l'oeil technique to create an urban space as an illusion of reality.

Today, it is possible to admire the latest version painted in 2004: a realistic countryside view with surreal animals and vegetables where the presence of the men is only imagined.
