The district of San Bartolo, divided in three different villages - Le Budrie, Borgata Città e La Villa - is located in the fertile countryside close to the river bank Samoggia.
A few meters from the splendid Villa Caprara, built in 1650 as country house of the powerful family Caprara, today known as Orsi Mangelli Palace, stands Saint Clelia Barbieri Shrine.
Founder of the “Little Sisters of the Mother of Sorrows” and canonized in 1989 by Giovanni Paolo II, the Saint was born, lived and died, at a very young age, in this place. As an important example of 19th rural and religious architecture, the complex includes, besides the parish church, the oratory of San Giuseppe where the Saint is buried, the House of the Teacher and the mother house of “Little Sisters of the Mother of Sorrows”.
