Le Notti delle Sementerie

From July 4 to Aug. 3, 2025, the tenth edition of Le Notti delle Sementerie will be staged in the agri-cultural space Sementerie Artistiche in the evocative Teatro di Paglia (via Scagliarossa 1174 - Crevalcore (Bologna), under the artistic direction of Manuela De Meo and Pietro Traldi of the Sementerie Artistiche company.

The Notti delle Sementerie have reached their tenth edition and to celebrate this important milestone, the 2025 edition has as its focus the history of Sementerie Artistiche through the most significant shows and experiences of these ten years of work.

Seventeen evenings: 5 historical shows of the company, 2 evenings of celebration with Teatro alla Carta and 1 week of A Midsummer Night's Dream, the traveling, participatory and site-specific show staged for the fourth consecutive year and now a true cult in its own right.

Le Notti 2025 opens with The Journey of Dr. Chekhov (July 4-5-6), performed by Pietro Traldi, directed by Federico Grazzini and text by Manuela De Meo. An exploration of the formation of Chekhov's thought through the great journey to Sakhalin, made before he wrote the works that made him one of the world's greatest writers.

Back on stage is the play Lontano Blu (July 11-12-13) with text and direction by Ignacio Gòmez Bustamante, the company's first production, which debuted in 2016 in Buenos Aires at the Banfield Teatro Ensamble, a company and cultural center that inspired the creation of the Sementerie Artistiche project.

Space is also made for the company's three most brilliant shows: Ol Baraba e altre Storie (July 18), by Manuela De Meo and Pietro Traldi, who is also on stage, tells of A man, who at 7:30 a.m., is in his car on his way to work, far from home. But the car breaks down, forcing him to spend the entire day in “Pieve di Qualcosa.”

Manzoni senza filtro (July 19) by and with Manuela De Meo, a tightrope walk through the pages of The Betrothed where there is room to be surprised by a story that seemed already heard but appears completely new, laugh, be moved and be indignant. The rewriting, which respects the style, sense and depth of the original work, brings a language of yesteryear closer to the ears of today, leaving us open-mouthed; The Show (July 20), written by Manuela De Meo and Elisa Denti, starring Elisa Denti, directed by Luigi D'Elia, Adele, the protagonist is shy, edgy and with an inner beast slumbering under the discomfort that accompanies her every moment of her life.

Finally, Teatro alla Carta (July 17 and Aug. 3) returns for the occasion, an original idea of Sementerie in which the audience, equipped with a menu full of proposals, independently constructs its own path as a spectator. The performances, which are multiple and of varying durations, are scattered in the different places, nooks, crannies, courtyards or open countryside that characterize the unique space of Sementerie Artistiche.
