Agriturismo la Dondina

A restaurant in the countryside of Budrio, between fields and old farmhouses in an area where, until a short time, was practised the ancient cultivation of hemp. The building stands on the foundations of a hunting lodge of the 16th century, that belonged to the counts Dondini and which later became a farm with barns and stables.

The cooking is inspired to the ancient recipes linked to the history and the economy of the Emilia-Romagna region: fresh pasta pulled with a rolling pin, the bread made from mother yeast, organic vegetables, eggs, chickens raised in the farm. Upon the table a particular attention is paid to enhancing local products, such as the renowned pork meat of “mora romagnola” and the “bovino romagnolo” beef meat.

The former stables are now used as entertaining rooms and restaurant.

The farm practice organic farming in the orchard, garden and berries' area. The fields still retain the old hedges of oak, mulberry tree, hawthorn and rows of "married vines" (vine plants supported by regular rows of trees).
