The Water eco-museum is situated in Padulle (2 km far from Sala Bolognese) in the naturalistic area of ecological restructuring of the Dosolo Flood-Basin .
Housed in a two-floor ex-stall that once managed the agricultural activity in the entire area, the museum offer visitors an exhibition tour combining traditional objects with technological ones.
An exhibition area on the ground floor illustrates the history of land reclamation through a series of tools linked with farming as well as reclamation in the 20th century, an interactive small-scale model of the territory between the Reno and Panaro, a computer-based theatre about the history of the territory and three multimedia information points about the history of land reclamation, water at man's service and a didactic game respectively.
The tour moves to the first floor where photos, cartographies and display panels illustrate life along the Reno: the water cycle, Emilian animal species and local talking people like the washerwoman, the fisherman, the carter and the ferryman. There is also a multimedia information point about the Dosolo Flood-Basin. A large conference room and a didactic area are also on the first floor.
Guided tours to the Water-Pumping Plant of Bagnetto and guided walks along the paths of the nearby naturalistic area of ecological restructuring take place outside the museum. The museum places satellite tracking devices at people's disposal to make their tours easier.
