Where: Fondazione Cirulli, via Emilia 275 - San Lazzaro di Savena (BO)
When: September 19 - December 13, 2020
Fondazione Massimo e Sonia Cirulli presents the new exhibition L’archivio animato. Lavori in corso (The animated archive. Work in progress), curated by Fondazione Cirulli with the advice and supervision of Jeffrey Schnapp.
The exhibition provides an agile and bold visual narrative of the Short Twentieth Century—from 1900 to 1970—the century of modernity, in which Italian creativity has its roots. L'archivio animato constitutes a veritable kaleidoscopic path through modern socio-cultural communication, moving from artistic masterpieces to the decorative arts, from advertising to industrial design and material culture: visitors will explore a comprehensive array of photographs, drawings, projects, paintings, posters, and magazines.
A real “laboratory” on the history and culture of the Twentieth Century, the show will feature over 200 artworks, distributed across 19 thematic sections.
Closed for months after covid-19 emergency, the exhibition will be open again from September 19, 2020 in the following weekends:
September 19 - 20
October 03 - 04
October 24 - 25
October 31 - November 1
November 28 - 29
December 12 - 13
The exhibition reopens with a new section dedicated to film director Federico Fellini: Federico Fellini dietro le quinte (behind the scenes). It includes some interesting original set design sketches by Danilo Donati, that will immerse the visitor in the atmosphere of three famous Fellini's movies: Amarcord, Satyricon and Casanova.
