An event dedicated to chocolate will take place in the streets of Casalecchio di Reno: a "sweet" festival, enhanced by the presence of creative master chocolatiers, and made exquisite by tastings and stands of artisan chocolate products.
Two days dedicated to the "food of the gods", including workshop for children, menu chocolate-based in the restaurants, shows and contests.
Piazza dei caduti will host a farmer's market and entertainments for children.
The festival Cioccola-ti-amo is an occasion to discover one of the historical pearls of Casalecchio, the Chiusa (the Sluice), Europe's oldest work of hydraulic engineering which is still in function in a steady way. As a symbol of social unity, the sluice joined the list 2000-2010 of the Unesco World Heritage Sites Messengers of the Culture of Peace for the Children. Thanks to a complex network of canals, it has been “managing” the water in the River Reno for eight hundred years in order to supply the city of Bologna and the Bolognese plain with power as well as contributing to the well-being and safety of the inhabitants of Casalecchio.
