Where: town center - 40052 Baricella (BO)
When: October 21-22, 2018
Baricella celebrates the ancient feast of sieves in honour of the household tools used to select the flour and of the sieves' seller figure, the "sdazèr", both part of the legacy the old rural traditions left in Baricella's memory.
The festival is a community gathering in the town streets and a feast where is possible to find traditional specialties, like roasted chestnuts (caldarroste), pancakes and cakes made of chestnut's flour ( mistocchine and castagnacci ), typical baked sweets and local sausage.
The fair, three centuries old, combines the original trading vocation to cultural and recreative entertainments with music and theatre shows.
A place is always reserved to the Baricella's baked desserts: volunteers of the village of Boschi will offer for tasting and on sale biscuits, "raviole" (biscuits filled with Mostarda jam), "pesche" (cookie dough dipped in red Alchermes liqueur to simulate a fake peach) and "brazadèla" (donut) to dip in red wine.
