Knights and ladies parade in Ozzano dell'Emilia to celebrate the legendary love between Lucia, the abbess of the monastery of Stifonti (Settefonti), and the knight Rolando. The re-enactment of the events involving the two lovers, narrated in the legend of Settefonti, brings Ozzano back to 1100 AD for a weekend.
The historical reenactment of the Abbess, now in its 33nd edition, takes place in the streets of the town with medieval costume parades, performances by archers an flag bearers.
The event will open on the evening of Friday 25 with the usual medieval dinner in the city council palace square. (for booking: Pro loco 345 4590599), accompanied by medieval costume entertainment and music, and continues in the two following days with a historic market, food stands and medieval theme activities.
The celebrations will end with the fireworks event on the Sunday evening.
Timetable: Friday's dinner 8.30 pm; Saturday- from 5 pm; Sunday from 10 am.
