Here, in the village of Le Budrie, in San Giovanni in Persiceto, lived and died the Bolognese Saint Clelia Barbieri .
She was the founder of the religious order, the “Suore Minime dell’Addolorata”, and was canonized on the 9th April 1989 by pope John Paul II.
The reliquaries of the Saint are kept in the Oratory of San Giuseppe, adjacent to the Church of Santa Maria Annunziata. Built in 1378 and renovated in the 19th and 20th centuries, the church hosts the chapel dedicated to the young saint.
Worth to be seen is also the chapel with the "Death of Saint Joseph" by Giuseppe Maria Crespi, as well as the "Annunciation to Virgin Mary" attributed to the School of Franceschini.
The Patron Saint Feast is taken yearly on the 13th July.
